Frith's Road and Spring Ghaut Hike
I was forwarned by Eileen that this hike was mostly uphill on hands and knees. Eileen does not lie. Of course, what goes up, must come down.

The Red Bill Tropic Bird at Rendezvous Bay
It's never easy to get to Rendezvous Bay, which is why it makes it such a special place to visit. This trip was particularly exciting as the Red Bill Tropic Bird had made their home in the cliffs above us!

When the Volcano Burps!
After a huge rainfall, the volcano spewed rocks and logs down the Belham. This debris made its way down the Belham River, into the ocean and eventually landed on the nearby beaches.

Birds on Long Beach at Sun Set
Life is never boring when there is such entertainment nearby. The birds on Long Beach at sunset were ready to put on a show and we were happy to watch! The blue heron hangs out hoping to be fed by the local fishermen, and the pelicans dance before bed time.

Music is a large part of island entertainment, and when Mary Ann manages to bring this group of talent together, we dance all night long!

Fire on the Beach with Shan & Jesse
There are very few rules on Montserrat so fires on the beach are just part of our social activities. Long Beach is the best place to watch the sun go down!
Pinnacle Rock Hike Feb 2009
A four hour hike through the most arid areas of the island made me wonder, "Is it worth it?" Once we arrived at Pinnacle Rock, we realized that the most beautiful parts of the island can only be seen on foot!

Fisherman's Catch
This is the first time I saw a fisherman with a good catch scaling his fish on the beach. It's nice to know some of the islanders are experienced fisherman! John Pontene brings over his own Garr for the young man to clean. John tells us both fish are good eating!

De Fife Man
We met De Fife Man shortly after I took this video from the Green Monkey. He is a friendly person with a beautiful smile. He is also a gifted musician and we appreciate each opportunity we have to listen to him play in a number of bands around island.

Lemon Tree Very Pretty!
The lemon tree on route to the dry waterfall was spectacular this year. Big round balls of yellow dangled from every branch. The tree was so tall and wide, we could stand under it, surrounding ourselves with the scent of lemon. What will we do with all these lemons? Margueritas, of course!
Entering the Banana Grove
A hike into the rainforests of Montserrat allows us to experience all kinds of magical places. Our hike to the dry waterfall always takes us through an abandoned grove of banana trees where we shop for as many bananas as we can stuff into our backpacks!
